EJ Kemper III was born to a teacher and a preacher in Fort Polk, Louisiana. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, a graduate of GMOR Theological Institute and pastor of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Lake Charles, LA. EJ has traveled as a missionary to Haiti. He is a board member of the SWLA Sickle Cell Anemia foundation. He has written numerous columns in Christian magazines and authored six books. His latest book, The Local Body, explores the importance of the local church and why membership is so critical.
Pastor Kemper is the husband of Orelia Marie Kemper and the father of Ellis James Kemper IV and Eyana Janae Kemper.
